Wheelz DriveBox Lite
I left Stanford after my sophomore year in '13 to join Wheelz full time (a peer-to-peer car sharing startup) in Embedded Systems Software Engineering
With a small hardware engineering team of 4, I helped build the embedded software for a PIC micro-controller, which was used in the DriveBox Lite (the small brown device in the photos above). The DriveBox Lite interfaced with a car's internal network through the OBD port so drivers could use the Wheelz app to locate rental cars on a map, honk the car to find it, unlock the doors, etc.
Wheelz was acquired by RelayRides (now Turo) in mid 2013 (press release)
