In 2020, I took a sabbatical from traditional work to spend time with family, travel, and start a micro-SaaS business called TechBlocks. As of mid 2023, TechBlocks is mostly passively earning six-figures in profit per year and with a ~97% profit margin (see www.techblocksco.com).

As a one-person business, I’ve worn many hats, including:

  • Identifying the business opportunity

  • Running user research

  • Writing 99% of the code

  • Designing the product and marketing materials

  • Hiring YouTube influencers (Lachlan Kirkwood, Caio Calderari)

  • Outsourcing customer support

  • Outsourcing graphic design/animation
